Often, it takes a practice group to break through barriers that stand in the way of sitting for longer periods of time and regularly. For new and experienced practitioners alike, this class series allows students to either benefit from the practice by dropping-in intermittently throughout the season or to approach this series as a study group by attending weekly. Each class includes a short yoga sequence and pranayama to prepare the body and mind for stillness and a short teaching to set the foundation for that evening’s guided practice. The seated meditation portion itself lasts approximately 45 minutes. For this Fall class series, the meditation technique will be breath-focused and the teachings will follow Books 1 & 2 of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. In simple terms, the Sutras are mindfulness teachings intended to support and render the practice accessible and relatable for all.

Bring a yoga mat. All other props are available in studio.
